No. Due to the nature of the program, we do not offer make-up opportunities for days missed.
If a child misses an entire week of camp due to illness or injury please contact Sherri with a valid doctors note. We will attempt to place the camper in another session if space allows.
Each child matures at their own pace, and we strive to meet campers where they are. However, to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone, campers must be developmentally ready to manage basic self-care independently, including using the restroom, changing clothes, eating lunch, and following simple instructions.
If a camper is unable to follow basic instructions or continues to misbehave after multiple redirections, a parent or guardian may be asked to pick them up.
While fun and play are an important part of camp, Flying Colors takes the following very seriously:
• Safety
• Respect (for coaches, fellow campers, and camp rules)
Rules and expectations are reviewed at the beginning of each camp week. Continued or willful rule violations, disruptive behavior, or actions that compromise safety may result in dismissal from camp without refund or makeup, in order to protect the well-being of all campers.
We are a small family camp that limits our weekly groups to under 35 participants in our circus camps. Our horse and wake camps have a maximum of 10 participants.
We maintain a 5:1 camper-to-coach ratio. Coaches use safe, respectful hands-on spotting techniques when needed. Safety is our number 1 priority, and that includes helping kids to feel safe emotionally as well as being safe physically.
Yes! Campers are able to request buddies. You will receive an email reminder about camp 1 to 2 weeks prior to camp with a reminder for any friend requests. Please note: students who are more than 2 years apart in age may not be put into groups together in order to provide the best training for both students. We do our best to arrange kids into groups taking into account age, ability level, and other activities that they are engaged in.
Our head coaches are professional circus artist and coaches with +10 years of experience, many have professional circus arts coach training and certification.
All 5-day camps culminate in a circus arts performance for friends and family - Friday from 1:00–3:00 pm. All campers have the opportunity to perform flying trapeze, aerial arts of their choice, and other possible ground acts.
All are welcome! Please invite friends and family that want to see what was accomplished, support the camper, or be amazed at a cool and fun circus show!
Yes. T-shirts and stickers are available for purchase at the Friday performance.
Camps run June through August:
"Once again, Sarah simply asked for a week at a Flying Colors camp for Christmas and will request one for her birthday on July 13th this year when she turns 12. You and your coaches are so good at nurturing physical as well as personal development in all your participants no matter their age."
-Penny M
"My kids loved summers of flying trapeze summer camp with Flying Colors Trapeze! Not only is it a unique experience to fly under the big sky, but flying trapeze and circus arts provides the opportunity to exercise all the qualities we want our children to develop as they grow; courage, confidence, grace, an ability to pick oneself up after a fall, perseverance, and physical and mental strength. While flying trapeze may sound intimidating, it is done in a supportive and non-threatening environment. Every child, from a beginner to the most skilled athlete, will have gained hours of joy, exhilaration, camaraderie, and an experience they won't find elsewhere." -Amy L
I have three very different kids that love to fly - Sherri and the other coaches and catchers at flying Colors Flying Trapeze school are always encouraging and recognize my children's individuality! My son says, "The environment is all about learning and having fun without pressure." This is such a great opportunity to work on flying trapeze skills on a consistent basis in the open air with such a positive coach! -Milana R
"For 13-year-old Elsa Reilly, trying something new meant going to a Flying Colors Trapeze camp last summer. The facility offers a range of circus and trapeze camps. Because she’s a competitive swimmer, Reilly didn’t have time to sign up for a regular gymnastics or acrobatics class. The three-day trapeze camp gave her a chance to explore this hobby.
'I only mainly do swimming, but I took the time off for this, and it was totally worth it,' Reilly said. 'It was super-fun, and it was nice to do something different for a change.'" - Elsa R
"My daughter has done tons of summer camps and this was her favorite one yet. The atmosphere was safe to take risks and build her confidence in herself both physically and mentally. I can't thank you enough for
giving her one of the
best weeks of her life so far.'" - Carina B
"This was a gift from me to my 15 yr old granddaughter. I am 70 yrs old and didn’t know if I was physically capable, but all the instructors were wonderful and very careful to make sure I was doing ok, never pushing me. They were all so supportive and encouraging. From the bottom of my heart I thank them for helping me to enjoy this wonderful experience with my granddaughter, one that we both will treasure and remember forever. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. Wonderful experience.'" - Noreen M
"I love that it seemed like the instructors were happy for the students - and I mean genuinely happy and proud. You all kept them safe, entertained, stretched their skills, made it fun and made them believe they could do things.
We plan to be back with Estelle as often as possible. Thank you for this
wonderful experience!'" - Erin M
